When shopping for a home, you have choices.
You also have choices when looking for a REALTOR to represent you during your home buying or home selling process. If you are purchasing a home, you are better off having your own agent to represent you. If you call the listing agent to see the property, keep in mind that they have signed a contract to represent the seller. They can show you their listing, but they can't legally represent both parties of a transaction as dual agency is illegal in the State of Kansas.
In order to have your best interests considered, I recommend having your own buyer's agent. It is important that you build a good rapport and communicate effectively with each other. You will be spending numerous hours with your REALTOR over the next few weeks, so it is imperative that you establish trust.
